Online Banking Security

WE HAVE TAKEN INTERNET SECURITY TO A HIGHER LEVEL
Today, technology changes rapidly. New advances in Electronic Banking Products and Services are introduced every day and we try to ensure we always have the most sophisticated financial tools available for our Internet-savvy customers. MultiFactor Authentication (MFA) strengthens security at login by using an additional form of authentication beyond the standard username and password. The solution is designed to preserve the convenience and usability of Online Banking while providing additional security for our customers.

We have updated our Internet Banking and Electronic Bill Pay to the latest version of Online Banking.

  1. The features and functions within Internet Banking will remain the same; however, the way you login to Internet Banking will change. Your new login will include:
    • A secret image and caption: When you first login to Internet Banking with this new security feature, you will select your own secret image and set-up an image caption. We will always display your image and image caption before you are asked to enter your password on our website.
    • Multi-Layer Security: This new authentication method allows the security system to authenticate your computer in order to ensure that the sign-in is not a fraudulent attempt to access your account information. Your secret image, access ID, and password are sent over the Internet from your computer to ours using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. The moment you login, your access ID and password are encrypted using SSL, keeping your information secure and ensuring that no one else can read it.
    • Three Challenge Questions: In addition, upon your first login of the new system, you will be asked to setup three challenge questions that will be used for verification purposes if the security system does not recognize your computer.
  2. The features and functions within Electronic Bill Pay will remain the same; however, the way you login to Electronic Bill Pay will change. Your new login will include:
    • Your Security Key: When you first login to Electronic Bill Pay with this new security feature, you will select your own Security Key. Every time you login to your Electronic Bill Pay Service, you will see the Security Key you established when you enrolled.
    • Multi-Layer Security: This new authentication method allows the security system to authenticate your computer in order to ensure that the login is not a fraudulent attempt to access your account information. Your security key, user ID, and password are sent over the Internet from your computer to ours using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. The moment you login, your user ID and password are encrypted using SSL, keeping your information secure and ensuring that no one else can read it.
    • A Minimum of Four Challenge Questions: In addition, upon your first login of the new system, you will be asked to setup a minimum of four challenge questions that will be used for verification purposes if the security system does not recognize your computer.

All you need to remember about our new security feature is simple: Once you’ve signed up, never enter personal information, such as your password, without first seeing your personal secret image for Internet Banking or your security key for Electronic Bill Pay.

Remember! Greater Rome Bank will NEVER send emails asking clients to provide, update or verify their personal or account information, such as passwords, social security numbers, PINS, credit or check card numbers, or other confidential information.
